Jennifer & Josiah: A Red Letterpress Wedding

It was a red letter(press) day for Jennifer and Josiah when they married in Malibu, California. The bride and groom designed their letterpress invitations themselves. The swirls of the letterpress wedding invitation hint at the swirls in the gorgeous stained glass of the Stauffer Chapel at Pepperdine University. Rarely do we get one color letterpress requests here at Joie Studio, but for this wedding, there was only one color of any importance: red! There was no need for the bride and groom to add in a second color as the red was beautifully accented by the cerulean blue of the gorgeous stained glass of the chapel and then with the gorgeous turquoise blue of the Pacific Ocean! In the Japanese tradition, brides fold 1001 paper cranes for their wedding day, and as you can see in the picture, the couple did an admirable job incorporating the tradition into the decor for the intimate reception.

Megan & Kana'ina: A Tropical Letterpress Wedding

Tropical colors and a passion flower motif were the cornerstones of Megan and Kana'ina's wedding design. For this gorgeous Hawaiian wedding at Lanikuhonua, Joie Studio custom designed the passion flower motif, taking inspiration from the floral motif on the bride's wedding dress. The design was used in the letterpress wedding invitations we created, the menus, even the invitation stamps! The floral design from the wedding dress was even carried through on the wedding cake. The bride chose gorgeous layers of purples, blues, and greens to style her wedding, which highlighted the wedding's tropical locale and matched the beadwork on her wedding gown!
